Mainly Maths

Life in Room 21 took an exciting turn last week, when we used the iPads to help us with our learning for the first time. The iPads have some amazing apps to help us with Reading, Writing and Maths and also help us to think about, and share our learning.

The first thing we did on the iPads was use the app Educreations. It is a program that lets us write down, photograph and talk about our learning. It is a fun way to be able to share our thinking with you.

In Maths, we are learning to skip count in 3s. We used the Macarena movements while we said the numbers to help us to remember the pattern. (Ask us to show you the Macarena using Skip counting in 2s, 5s and 10s - it is great for our learning, we are really good at it and we love doing it!)We took photos of ourselves doing the Macarena, photos of the right number of counters and wrote the number in numerals, English words and Maori words to help us to remember the pattern. It was our first time using educreations and we had a lot of fun while learning!

We hope you enjoy watching our Educreations as much as we enjoyed making them!
