Leticia from Room 21 and her friend Jia Qi go to dancing after school. They learnt this cool dance and shared it with the junior school. We were very lucky to see such a great dance! Well done girls :)

Rubie's Bouncing EGGsperiment
To make a bouncing egg you have to do this. A bouncing egg is made by putting vinegar and water in a cup. You then put a normal egg in. I left it in the vinegar for 4 days. After 4 days I brought it to school. I wanted to see if it would bounce. But it didn't bounce - it splatted on the concrete! The whole shell had melted off in the vinegar and the inside was quite rubbery, but the yolk was still runny. We wondered if we used malt vinegar if it would have worked better.
Hokey Pokey with Bella
I made hokey pokey with my mum. She came to school to teach Room 21 about Science because she was a Science teacher! It was very fun. At the end we got to take one piece of hokey pokey back home. It was delicious!!!
When my mum was cooking the hokey pokey I did a yeast experiment for the class. This is what I did:
When my mum was cooking the hokey pokey I did a yeast experiment for the class. This is what I did:
- I got a cup of warm water
- I put some yeast in
- I mixed it then I put 4 sugar cubes in
- Then I mixed it together until it all disolved together
- Pour the mixture into a bottle
- Put a balloon over the neck of the bottle
- Put the bottle with the balloon on in a warm place
- As the yeast warms up, it makes the balloon blow up!
What a cool experiment!
My Fizzy Experiment by Kaylum
Today I am doing my experiment. It is called the Fizzy Experiment. The first thing you do is get a big candle and light the candle. Then you put some vinegar into the cup with the candle and add baking soda. The baking soda and vinegar create a reaction that bubbles up. When the bubbles reach the flame, then the candle goes out!
My Balloon Experiment by Matthew
On Tuesday I did my experiment. It is a balloon experiment. The first thing you do is put vinegar into a bottle with a skinny neck.
Then you put baking soda into a balloon. After you've done that you carefully place the balloon on top of the balloon. When the baking soda falls into the vinegar, the balloon will start to blow up! It was a cool experiment :D
Amalea's Static Electricity Experiment
One day I did a experiment about static electricity. Here is what I did:
I went on the computer and typed up what my experiment means and I also typed up what I was going to do.
What you need:
I went on the computer and typed up what my experiment means and I also typed up what I was going to do.
What you need:
- two balloons
- hair
- one can
- wool
What you do:
- rub the balloon against your hair
- move the ballon around and watch how the hair attracts to the balloon!
- rub a different balloon on wool
- put the balloon close to a can and watch how the can follows the balloon!
This reaction happens because of positive and negative static electricity.
Chris' Dry Ice Bubble
My experiment was a dry ice bubble . Room 21 watched my experiment!!! It did not work the way it was supposed to work, but Room 21 still liked it. It looked like a bunch of clouds!!
When I put dry ice in water it made steam like Halloween fog!!!
Room21 took a photo of me holding a bubble.
You will need:
You will need:
- a bowl with a lip around it
- dish washing liquid
- and dry ice
Kate's Lemon Fizzy Drink!
In room 21 we are doing experiments! My experiment was making Lemon Fizzy Drink! Here is what I did.
- I squeezed a few 1/2 lemons into a glass
- I put in the same amount of water as lemon juice
- I added a teaspoon of baking soda in to the lemon juice and water
We watched the lemon juice fizz when I added the baking soda. A lot of it spilled out of the glass! Everyone in Room 21 got to have a little taste of the fizzy lemon juice! I thought it was WAY too fizzy! Some people thought it was too sour. Some people really liked it!
Do you think you could try this experiment at home? It is a lot of fun :)

Neela's Lava Lamp
One very exciting day I brought an experiment to show the class. It was a lava lamp! I was very excited about showing the class! We even showed Room 22 because they practiced theirs, but it didn't work.
These are the ingredients:
Then I added the berocca into it.
What do you think happened?
This is what it did - The Berocca bubbled and pushed the food colouring up into the oil in big blobs! It looked like a real Lava Lamp!
These are the ingredients:
- water
- vegetable oil
- food colouring
- Berocca tablets, broken into quarters
- and a funnel.
I poured the oil into the funnel.
After I had poured in all of the bottle of oil I waited for the water and oil to separate from each
other.
Then I put 12 drops of food colouring.
What do you think happened?

Ayaana's Tornado Time!
On Tuesday 30 October I made a Tornado In A Bottle! My mum thought Miss Williams shook it, because it was hard, but I did!
If you want to make a torndo at home all you need is glitter (that's not silver), some dish washing liquid and a clear drink bottle filled with water.Mix all that together. Screw the lid on. Turn it upside down and turn it around in circles.Watch carefully and see what happens.

Glowing Water by Baxter
On Wednesday I brought my experiment to school. My experiment was glowing water. If you want to do this you will need :
- bottle of tonic water
- ultra violet light
Instructions
- Go into a dark room.
- Get the ultra violet light and tonic water.
- Turn the ultra violet light on.
- Shine it on the tonic water.
Lokkie's Static Electricity
For my experiment, I made static electricity. This is how I made static electricity
You need:
Rub the balloon on your hair. After that, put the balloon on the cut up paper then the paper will fly up just like this...!.

That is static electricity. This is how it makes static electricity. The cut up paper and balloon are both positive energies. If you rub the balloon on your hair makes the balloon negative. That's how it attracts the paper. You can try this at your home.

Karina's Experiment
For my experiment I got a cup full of water. I put blue food colouring in too, then I mixed it all up.I put baby oil in to the cup. The baby oil floats on top of the water because it is so much lighter than the water. Did you know that? When I put acid reflux tablets inside the cup full of water, blue food colouring and baby oil it starts to bubble. It starts to bubble because the acid makes it bubble.
What you need:
- water
- food colouring
- baby oil
- acid reflux tablets
Jonathan's Floating Ping Pong Balls!
My experiment is floating a ping pong ball and it is cool! I liked every body's experiments, but I like Ryan's one the best.
This is how you do a floating ping pong ball - you need a ping pong ball and a hair dryer. Then you turn the hair dryer on and put the ping pong ball on top of the hot air. The ping pong ball will float on top of the hair dryer!
